Summary
As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere while managing the flow of the dining spaces. In addition to traditional hosting duties, this role supports the team by assisting with food running and bussing tables as needed during peak times or to ensure a seamless guest experience. The Host is responsible for certain duties including, but not limited to, setting tables, preparing and serving food items, clearing tables, refilling beverages, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and other related responsibilities.Job Description
Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations, and seat guests promptly according to seating availability and server rotation. Maintain an accurate waitlist during busy periods, providing guests with estimated wait times and ensuring clear communication. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and take reservations or to-go orders as needed. Monitor dining room activity to ensure a smooth flow of service and assist with coordinating table turnover. Deliver food to tables accurately and efficiently when assisting as a food runner, ensuring guests receive their orders in a timely manner. Clear and reset tables, including removing dishes, wiping surfaces, and preparing tables for new guests when supporting as a busser. Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest needs or concerns and escalating issues to leadership when necessary. Assist with light cleaning tasks, such as tidying the host stand or front entrance, during downtime. Perform additional tasks as directed by leadership to support the overall operation of the restaurant. Complies with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service. Provides outstanding customer service and effectively communicates with patrons and co-workers. Demonstrates ability to establish effective working relationships. Possesses ability to work independently when necessary. Possesses an understanding of food safety and sanitation processes. Demonstrates ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Performs other duties as required.Qualifications
