Hospital Development Executive

Labcorp is seeking a Hospital Development Executive to join our team in supporting District of Columbia (D.C), Maryland and Virginia.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops new relationships with the leaders inside of the hospital administration responsible for hospital reference operations
  • Targets new hospital reference laboratory opportunities for Labcorp
  • Wins new hospital reference business opportunities
  • Develops relevant business plans with clearly defined strategies and objectives to deliver year-over-year revenue growth
  • Directs ownership for onboarding new hospital reference laboratory business
  • Responsible for new customer implementation plans from start to finish inside a matrixed organization
  • Works with Labcorp division and corporate HHS leadership to expand services beyond clinical reference testing.  (i.e., Drug Development, Integrated Oncology, Strategic Deals, etc.)
  • Communicates the Labcorp health system value proposition to our clients

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or higher in Health Administration, management, public health, nursing, business administration or related field
  • 3 years or more healthcare Business development or sales experience in hospital or medical markets.
  • 2 years or more experience managing complex sales, selling into C‑suite or complex healthcare organizations.
  • Reside in one of the following states: Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia (D.C.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in healthcare or business management
  • 2 years of experience with large health systems’ central contracting processes
  • 1 year or more experience building and managing strategic relationships within hospitals or health systems.

Additional Job Standards

  • Knowledge of Hospital Health Systems
  • Experience conducting market research that drives measurable business opportunities.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activity to improve performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated success preparing proposals and negotiating contracts, tracked by win rate and deal value.
  • Track record of acquiring new hospital or corporate clients and increasing account value.
  • Familiarity with healthcare financial and operational KPIs (e.g., ROI, cost efficiency, operational throughput).
  • Ability to manage performance using business development KPIs—pipeline conversion, revenue per account, etc.
  • Collaborates effectively within cross‑functional teams, contributing to project goals and achieving on-time team deliverables.
  • Leads and organizes projects with clear timelines and milestones, maintaining adherence to project schedules and documentation standards.
  • Delivers high-quality communication, producing presentations and written materials.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Salesforce.com, using tools to increase reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Balances field engagement and administrative responsibilities, consistently maintaining timely follow‑up and completion of all required client and internal tasks.
