This position is located in Arlington, VA and will have a 4-day onsite schedule Monday-Thursday, with Fridays work from home. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers

  • A demonstrated record of delivering complex technical solutions and sustained ownership of long-running initiatives

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Computer Vision Engineer, or Applied Data Scientist

  • 3+ years of programming experience with modern languages such as Python, with strong proficiency in CV/ML libraries

  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying computer vision models, including:

    • Image classification, object detection, and segmentation

    • Vision transformers (e.g., ViT), CLIP, diffusion models, or other multimodal architectures

    • Feature extraction, embedding models, and image similarity search

  • Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

  • Experience integrating computer vision models into broader machine learning systems, including multimodal or LLM-vision workflows

  • Strong analytical and mathematical foundation, particularly in linear algebra, probability, and optimization

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with cloud-based ML and computer vision platforms such as Amazon SageMaker, Bedrock, Databricks, or EC2 GPU environments

  • Experience building and maintaining large-scale image pipelines, including dataset curation, annotation tooling, and data augmentation

  • Proficiency with SQL databases (e.g., AWS RDS) or NoSQL/document databases (e.g., DynamoDB)

  • Experience developing high-throughput image processing workflows in both streaming and batch environments

  • Demonstrated experience deploying, monitoring, and optimizing computer vision models in production, with an understanding of model lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with modern MLOps practices for CV, including model registries, feature stores, CI/CD for ML, observability, and GPU performance tuning

  • Experience providing technical leadership, establishing best practices, or mentoring other engineers
