The HVAC Production Supervisor is responsible for guiding and motivating assigned
employees, prioritizing and assigning work, reviewing quality and quantity of work, and providing general supervision.
Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Lead, coach, and motivate HVAC technicians to achieve high performance, quality workmanship, and safe work practices.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to plan, prioritize, and assign daily work based on project schedule, skill level, and customer requirements.
Address complaints and resolve problems, provide feedback to Manager on performance concerns, tardiness, absenteeism, etc.
Identify opportunities to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Review completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and quality control requirements.
Estimates, selects, requisitions, and inspects materials.
Examines installed HVAC systems to diagnose complex HVAC issues, recommend solutions, and support technicians in resolving technical challenges.
Monitor and report labor hours, material usage, and production progress to management as required.
Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Communicate and interact directly with the customer, determining needs, and informing them of unexpected or additional repairs.
Assist with orienting and training new employees and assist with work assignments.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Licensed by the State of Virginia as a Journeyman HVAC Mechanic.
Minimum of at least 5 to 7 years’ direct experience working on commercial heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and controls.
Ability to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and high man lifts.
Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be able to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner
Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as back shift and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crawl, reach, push, pull, and climb to inspect work.
Security Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Ft Lee, Virginia installation clearance and CAC card.
Required drug screening and background check
Driving Requirements:
A valid state driver license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by HMG’s insurance company.
