This position has the option of being fully remote, hybrid remote, or onsite. When in office this position will be located in Williston, VT.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Integrity Specialist is focused on the quality and accuracy of data in the master patient index (MPI) and the electronic health record throughout UVMMC. They must be able to able to retroactively determine a course of action to rectify an error or quality issue, carry that action out comprehensively between many different information systems, document all quality issues and actions, and disseminate information. They are responsible for monitoring incoming interface messages where appropriate to assist patient validation and identification. They monitor and resolve duplicate MRNS in the EMPI. They also are responsible for daily processing of work produced by the external transcription vendor. Works effectively with UVMMC and Health Network sites to communicate and coordinate strategies and solutions to support operationally sound workflows and systems for accurate, reliable, and quality record content and patent identification.
EDUCATION:
Associate level degree in health information management or related field or equivalent experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years of health information management related field such as medical transcription, coding or auditing, analytics, or other relevant clinical experience working with medical records in an acute care facility. Clinical office experience may be considered. Experience with Epic and Onbase is preferred. Experience with EMPI systems is preferred.
