Application Development Senior Manager – Production Support
Position Overview
The Application Development Senior Manager – Production Support will lead and manage a global production support team, ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications. This role requires close collaboration with the US-based team to provide seamless 24x7 support, drive operational excellence, and implement best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
Key Responsibilities:
< >Team Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor a production support team in Hyderabad, ensuring high engagement and performance. Collaborate with the US-based team to maintain global coverage and consistent service delivery.Operational Excellence: Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes to ensure timely resolution and minimal business impact. Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to reduce recurring issues.Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for business and technology stakeholders for production support matters. Communicate effectively with senior leadership on system health, major incidents, and improvement plans.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate and optimize support processes. Implement monitoring and alerting enhancements to proactively manage system performance.Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to SLAs, compliance standards, and audit requirements. Maintain accurate documentation for processes, incidents, and changes.
Required Qualifications:
< >Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in production support leadership roles.Strong understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.Experience managing global teams and working in a follow-the-sun support model.Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Nagios, or similar for application and infrastructure monitoring.Incident Management Platforms: Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ticketing systems.
< >Database & Middleware Knowledge: Basic understanding of SQL, Oracle, WebLogic, or similar technologies.Cloud & Virtualization: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.Automation & Scripting: Ability to leverage PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting for automation.Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret logs, metrics, and dashboards to troubleshoot issues.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
