Job Summary
This role is in our Financial Planning & Analysis team within the Actuarial Finance organization responsible for all core medical product projections and financial reporting, including the Pathwell Specialty product and various funding arrangements. The Pathwell Specialty product is Cigna’s medical specialty drug management solution that reduces high-cost specialty medication spend by directing care to a designated provider network, coordinating pharmacy and medical benefits, and offering dedicated clinical support for patients and providers. This role will provide cross-product support enhancing insights in a standardized manner across products, partnering with other members of the team, as well as to own the Pathwell Specialty responsibilities directly.
Core Responsibilities:
- Role is responsible for producing and maintaining cross product summary dashboards, showing how revenue, claims and key assumptions change from projection to projection. This will include enhancing and building new views for leadership, including VP of Actuarial, and head of Actuarial Finance team.
- Project and analyze Pathwell Specialty membership by working with medical Business Finance Officers and Product team to understand adoption assumptions, opt outs, and other considerations.
- Produce Pathwell Specialty spread projections and monitor actuals to understand variances to projection
- Enhance modeling of file on the team to adapt to new Pathwell learnings
- Support and develop management processes to project and analyze program experience on relevant new launches, similar to Pathwell Specialty.
Qualifications:
- At least 8-11 years professional work experience in an actuarial or related field
- Completed and passed at least 2 actuarial exams, preferably SOA
- A bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance economics, data analytics or related major
- Outstanding technical skills: Excel proficiency preferred, coding experience in Python, R, SQL, a plus
- Analytical skills: Ability to think critically, problem solve and drive business impact
- Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
