High School Engineering Internship

Position Overview: 

The High School Engineering Internship will work alongside experienced engineers to learn engineering related skills and perform engineering-related tasks.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Key Responsibilities: 

• Work with experienced engineers to learn and practice engineering skills. 

• Assist with real engineering projects, completing assigned tasks on-time. 

• Evaluate data from manufacturing processes and provide recommendations. 

• Collaborate with other associates to understand opportunities for engineering improvements and enhancements. 

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following Shaw Industries’ safety standards. 

• Participate in job shadowing and hands-on training sessions to develop technical skills. 

• Document work performed and report issues to supervisors as needed. 

Qualifications: 

• Graduating high school senior who is completing high school in May 2027. 

• Successfully completed a technical or vocational program while in high school (preferred focus: Engineering, Engineering Drafting & Design, or related field). 

• Strong interest in pursuing an engineering degree in college; desire to be an engineer as a professional (post-high school). 

• Basic computer skills. 

• Self-motivated with good organizational and time management skills. 

• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in an industrial setting. 

• Good communication skills and willingness to learn. 

• Must be at least 17 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. 

Schedule: 

• Part-time hours. Typically 15-20 hours per week. 

• First shift
