The Opportunity:
The Satellite Communications Operations Help Desk Technician Tier 1 provides first-line support to all DoD users by resolving their technical issues and inquiries. Provide technical assistance for C2ISR Data Transport Infrastructure across global operational environments. Support focuses on rapid incident response, network troubleshooting, and coordinating service interruptions for transport infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs initial diagnostic steps to identify the nature of the problem, following established scripts and procedures.
  • Provides basic technical assistance and support for common hardware and software issues related to C2ISR systems.
  • Assists users with account lockouts, password resets, and basic connectivity checks.
  • Escalates complex or unresolved issues to higher-tier support personnel, providing clear and concise problem descriptions.
  • Contributes to maintaining the help desk knowledge base by documenting frequently asked questions and basic resolutions.
  • Gathers information from users to accurately document reported issues and system behavior.
  • Ensures adherence to established help desk policies and procedures for incident logging and resolution.
  • Supporting operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year (24/7/365) – shift work


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

  • 3 years experience with C2ISR Data Transport Infrastructure systems and networks
  • CompTia A+,  Network +, certifications
  • Obtain DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within 6-months of hire

Desired:

  • Experience with Role Specific Tools such as:
  • Service Desk ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy)
  • Knowledge base repositories
  • Remote desktop support tools (Microsoft Remote Desktop, TeamViewer)
  • Collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Outlook)
  • PC diagnostic utilities; network connectivity testers; audio visual troubleshooting tools; inventory and asset management systems; documentation templates for procedures and trouble logs.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$49,200 - $100,900
