Summary

Hamilton Kent is seeking a Heavy Gasket Operator to join our team.  In this role, you will play a key part in producing high-quality gaskets used in critical infrastructure projects. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help ensure reliable products that make a difference in communities.  Splicing is the production process that uses heated moulds to join pre‑cut rubber strips into circular gaskets.  This role is essential to ensuring safe, consistent, and high‑quality gasket production for our operations. 

Location: 77 Carlingview Drive, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9W 5E6 (view on google maps)

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:00pm (Morning shift)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and ensure mould temperatures meet required settings.
• Inspect rubber strips and materials for quality before production.
• Operate splicing equipment, load materials, and complete the splicing process.
• Perform visual inspections of finished gaskets and identify any defects.
• Package completed gaskets accurately and verify correct quantities.
• Record production information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Support additional duties as needed to meet production and quality targets.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to use, or be trained to use, various measuring tools used in gasket manufacturing
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Ability to handle items up to 25lbs without restriction
• Willingness to learn new processes and operate equipment safely and correctly
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Working Conditions

Plant environment with light physical activity (lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, walking). Exposure to heat and use of light press equipment. Commitment to health and safety standards in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
