We Require
Three years of experience operating trucks and heavy equipment
High school diploma or GED
Must possess a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement
State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety, but may not specifically require a valid CDL

Job Contributions
Operate a variety of medium to large-sized construction and maintenance equipment/vehicles, including a motor grader, excavator, front-end loader, dump truck, and water truck, in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
Plan and prioritize work tasks; read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
Perform heavy manual labor assignments as needed and assist work crews as required
Complete required daily logs and prepare reports; attend safety meetings and other required meetings and mandatory training
Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks
Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware
Heavy-duty vehicles, trailers, and equipment; Cartegraph; Fleet management software; hand and power tools; transport trailers, chains, and detachable towing units.
Protective Equipment Required
All OSHA and MCDOT-required PPE, including but not limited to hard hats, safety vests, safety boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
