Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
- Troubleshoot and repair and maintain Caterpillar mining equipment
- Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
- Large scale overhauls and rebuilds
- Component replacements
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician
- Strong field troubleshooting skills on the Caterpillar mining product line required for field based positions
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract required for field positions
Important Details:
- This position will work a 14x14 shift, rotating days and nights, and will provide support to Suncor Base Mine Shop
- A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
- Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
