Finning is growing fast—and so are the opportunities! We’re hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics to support our expanding operations and ongoing projects, out of our Calgary location.

• Field premium $2.25/hr
• Shift: 7x7 continuous shift

Job Description:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment

  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily 

  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) 

  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team 

  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on various tasks as required 

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification 

  • Dual Tickets will be an asset

  • Field truck experience - two years minimum

  • Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract 

  • Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset

  • Willingness to participate and complete additional training 

  • Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision 

Important Details: 

  • Based in Calgary, 7x7 continuous shift

  • Tooled company truck supplied

  • A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable 

  • Union Membership: This is a unionized position.  Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire.  Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
