The Opportunity

The Healthcare Modernization Lead serves as the program’s primary technical lead for medical device integration, interoperability, and modernization across shipboard medical platforms, ensuring connected systems function effectively with current and future healthcare technologies.

Responsibilities


            Oversees sustainment, configuration, and lifecycle planning for medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and interfacing modalities that connect to existing medical information systems, while excluding direct administration of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform itself.
            Assess, coordinate, and manage device-to-system integration requirements for medical equipment interfacing with TMIP-M, MHS GENESIS Theater, legacy clinical systems, and supporting middleware where applicable.
            Provide subject matter expertise on medical device connectivity standards, data exchange, and operational compatibility, including legacy outputs, expeditionary portability, and generator-supported environments.
            Coordinate directly with Medical Logistics, NIWC, MSC, shipboard medical departments, and supporting stakeholders to ensure operational readiness, modernization alignment, and sustainment of integrated medical technologies.
            Evaluate current and future-state medical technologies to support modernization efforts in accordance with Military Health System roadmaps, Navy Medicine requirements, cybersecurity policies, and industry best practices.
            Identify requirements for replacement, upgrade, or sustainment of medical devices with emphasis on:
o            Interoperability
o            Regulatory compliance
o            Lifecycle management
o            Cybersecurity
o            Portability for expeditionary missions
o            Foreign humanitarian mission applicability
            Support implementation planning for new medical technologies by validating technical requirements, infrastructure dependencies, and integration constraints across afloat medical environments.
            Advise leadership on risks, gaps, and opportunities related to medical device integration, modernization priorities, and healthcare technology sustainment.
            Ensure all supported systems and interfacing devices align with applicable DoN, NIWC, cybersecurity, and operational compliance standards.

 

Qualifications

Required


            At least 3 years of experience in Military Health System/Navy Medicine, specific to healthcare delivery, administration, and/or informatics.
            Must be able to travel to work on-site as directed.
            Must be a US Citizen & fluent in English.
            Must be able to lift and carry loads of 25lbs or more and climb steep ladders and staircases.
            Must possess or be eligible for a valid U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.
            Personnel shall complete required DoW, DoN, and NIWC security training as applicable.
            Must have or obtain a non-diplomatic United States Passport with at least one year remaining before expiration, as this contract may require personnel to perform support overseas (This can be obtained after hire within 30 days.)
Desired Skills:
            Experience working with Navy Medicine Logistics and familiarity with AMAL/ADAL.
            Experience working with Military Sealift Command and/or familiarity with Medical as pertains to the Combat Logistics Force.
            Experience working with Department of Health Affairs and/or fundamental knowledge of how the Agency interacts with Navy Medicine.
            Experience with Electronic Health Record, specifically TMIP-M (AHLTA-T, TC2, MMM) and/or MHS Genesis-Theater.
            Prior military experience, specifically with Navy or USMC.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$58,500 - $122,800
