Healthcare Assistant -Outpatients
London: HCA @The Shard, London Bridge Hospital
Full time: 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: Monday –Friday (flexibility required to include early and late shifts and occasional weekends)
Permanent contract
Salary: competitive dependent on experience
We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Outpatients Department at HCA@ The Shard, part of The London Bridge Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.
Our outpatient facility at The Shard offers exceptional care across a range of medical specialties from orthopaedics to women’s health and as a Staff Nurse & part of a multidisciplinary team you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate high standards of nursing care
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for providing skilled clinical assistance to the nursing and medical teams. The successful candidate will participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain the agreed standards of care.
Further assisting with both patient and non-patient manual handling, cleaning duties and waste disposal, re-stocking & Phlebotomy
In this role, you’ll help keep our clinical areas running smoothly by ensuring treatment rooms are clean, organized, and well-stocked. You’ll support our medical team by chaperoning, assisting with procedures, and carrying out basic observations and treatments, always prioritizing patient comfort and dignity. You’ll also handle specimen labelling, maintain accurate records, and report any concerns promptly.

What you’ll bring:
Minimum NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
Care certificate
Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in Hospital Setting
Phlebotomy
Experience of working with members of the public
Must be able to effectively communicate in English verbally and written
