A career within PwC’s Consulting Healthcare team offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of digital health innovation, supporting leading organisations across Ireland’s health system as they modernise technology, harness data and analytics, and drive largescale digital transformation. As a PwC Director, you will:Roles & Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Growth
Lead business development efforts across health technology, including digital strategy, clinical system implementation and digital operations.
Build and deepen client relationships with senior technology, data, clinical and operational leaders.
Inform the development of sector-wide strategy and account plans as aligned with the PwC Consulting and firm strategy and lead implementation of these.
Design differentiated go to market offerings in technology and data enabled service transformation, working closely with technology and data SME colleagues.
Represent PwC as a recognised expert in digital health, data and technology enabled transformation.
2. Client Leadership & Advisory
Lead end to end healthcare technology focused client engagements, from early stage shaping through delivery.
Advise senior leaders on digital health strategy and t
Translate digital health strategies into executable delivery roadmaps.
Lead the design, build and implementation of digital health solutions, overseeing requirements definition, solution architecture, workflow redesign, configuration, testing, go-live readiness and adoption support.
Diagnose system challenges related to, for example, legacy technology, fragmented data, operational bottlenecks and digital capability gaps. Develop innovative, pragmatic solutions grounded in healthcare technology trends, sector evidence and practical delivery experience to support clients in addressing identified challenges.
3. Delivery Oversight
Oversee a portfolio of complex, multi-year digital transformation programmes.
Ensure delivery excellence, robust risk management and alignment to client goals while managing technology, data and change risks.
Provide expertise in areas such as:
healthcare technology system implementation - cloud transformation and interoperability
analytics and population health intelligence
technology enabled operating model redesign
Guide clients on design, build, implementation and adoption of health technology solutions.
4. People Leadership
Build and lead high performing, multidisciplinary teams spanning technology, clinical and operational talent.
Mentor Senior Managers and Managers, supporting deepening expertise across health technology.
Drive practice development, capability building and talent retention in the health technology space.
5. Technical & Sector Expertise
Health Technology Directors are expected to bring deep expertise in several of the following areas:
Digital health strategy, technology road mapping and transformation planning.
AI applications in clinical, operational or administrative contexts;
Healthcare technology systems (e.g. EHR, digital front door solutions, care coordination platforms and workflow technology.
Technology enabled transformation, including cloud migration and operating model redesign.
Performance improvement and productivity programmes enabled by data and digital tools.
Health system planning, service redesign and pathway digitisation supported by technology.
Capital, technology procurement and vendor management across the health ecosystem.
Your Profile
10–12+ years’ experience in digital health, health technology transformation, or healthcare consulting.
Deep understanding of the Irish healthcare system’s digital and data landscape, policy context, and current transformation programmes.
Strong track record of leading complex technology and data programmes within largescale healthcare environments.
Proven ability to influence senior executives across clinical, operational, data and technology domains.
Strong commercial acumen with a record of building pipeline, developing proposals and winning new digital and data work.
Ability to translate complex technology and data challenges into clear strategic pathways and measurable outcomes.
Experience leading multidisciplinary delivery teams and leveraging global expertise.
Commitment to innovation, digital enablement, emerging technologies and continuous improvement in healthcare.
Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Relevant undergraduate and / or Master’s degree, for example in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering.
Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum/Agile, HIMSS, HL7/FHIR, EHR vendor certifications.
