Job Summary: This position reports to the Deputy Director, Patient Care Services (DDPCS) Chief Nursing Officer and assists the DDPCS with administrative duties involving Chaplain Service, Imaging Service, Inpatient and Emergency Care Services, Nursing Professional Services, Organizational Development Service, Pathology and Medical Laboratory Service, Pharmacy, Social Work Service, Sterile Processing Service, and Whole Health Service.

Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 11/21/2025. Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Health System Specialist - Executive Assistant. Qualifying specialized experience is defined as progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement. At this level, applicants would have obtained this experience working within a health care setting, working directly with healthcare professionals and organizational leadership to solve problems in support of the delivery of patient care and program/operational functions; experience running and supervising an administrative component of a health care system customizing in compliance, improvement programs, and operations; experience analyzing data and applying management principles and analytic technique which result in substantive recommendations for supporting or changing program operations, methodologies, or missions; and planning and accomplishing health care system special projects and performing staff support work in short and long-range planning efforts. Preferred Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in hospital administration and operations, leadership and (or) management. Minimum of five years of experience working closely with facility service managers, problem solving, and building coalitions. Managing executive level budgeting processes that resource the organization. MS Office suite products to include data entry and analysis and reports. Master's Degree in Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, or related fields such as business or public administration. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
