Job Summary: About the Position: This position is located at 87th Medical Group, MTF McGuire, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Major Duties:

  • Collect, track, and report required data by military Credentialing, Privileging and Risk Management Offices on Health Care Practitioners within their facilities and for readiness and humanitarian missions.
  • Review medical staff, clinical performance improvement, and leadership standards from Federal and civilian accrediting agencies and analyzes impact on Medical Treatment Facility policy and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, resolves problems, and evaluates the effectiveness of change in regard to competency information.
  • Develop short- and long-range plans to meet mission requirements for execution of various program initiatives and sustainment plans to ensure providers are ready to practice and/or deploy immediately.
  • Research, clarify, analyze, and apply accrediting agency standards and regulatory policies and guidance.
  • Prepare the organization for inspections and accreditation surveys and serves as an internal resource and liaison to accrediting and inspection agencies.
  • Manage the credentials of health care personnel, tracks expiration dates and provides notifications prior to the deadlines, and initiates timely and appropriate actions regarding deficient provider credentials.
  • Maintain evidence, documents and communications related to actual ligation, investigation, and/or privileging actions affecting health care providers if required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To Qualify at the GS-09 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with a credentialing and privileging program, analyzing data, and using various automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. To Qualify at the GS-11 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with a credentialing and privileging program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, analyzing data, using various automated systems, and generating reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
