Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Bath Health and Wellness Center and become part of a top healthcare system in Akron. This patient-friendly facility offers a variety of primary care, emergency care and specialty services along with Lifestyles, a medically based fitness program and facility.  

Akron General offers health screenings every month at a variety of locations within the local community. Screenings may include cholesterol checks, blood pressures, corporate screenings, flu vaccines, and more. Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Wellness Services, the Health Screening Technician will perform these health screenings, and inform clients of the test results and self-help treatment measures available. The Technician will also be responsible for the set-up of equipment, running quality controls, and proper maintenance of the equipment. This is a great opportunity for a new grad LPN, RN, or MT or someone who has an interest in a career in healthcare. 

 
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts between 6:00AM – 8:00PM.  

 
A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Conduct finger stick screenings using the Cholestech analyzer and other health screenings using the appropriate equipment for each screening. 

  • Adhere to the governing bodies (JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and OSHA) regulations regarding screenings.  

  • Set up equipment and run quality controls.  

  • Collaborate with Akron General labs on various issues, such as logbooks, troubleshooting and comparative studies.  

  • Register clients and collect fees.  

  • Inform clients of test results and make referrals to appropriate healthcare providers. 

  • Distribute approved patient education materials.  

  • Transport equipment and supplies 

  • Maintain licensure(s) and certification(s).  

  • Recognize significant age-appropriate behavior, skills and psychosocial development. 

  • Assist patients with safety needs based on patient visual, auditory or other physiological changes. 

 
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Valid Ohio driver’s license  

 
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Degree in a health field  

  • Licensure as a MT, RN or LPN  


Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to perform some heavy lifting of equipment set up tables chairs and equipment.


Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
