What this job involves - The HSSE & Sustainability Analyst will support comprehensive health, safety, security, environmental, and sustainability programs across assigned locations in India. This role combines operational HSSE coordination with sustainability program implementation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and JLL's "One Team S.A.F.E.R. Together" safety culture while advancing environmental and energy management objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

HSSE Operations & Compliance

  • Execute site-specific HSSE programs in accordance with Environmental Requirements, local legislation, and JLL safety standards

  • Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and workplace safety evaluations

  • Maintain HSSE documentation, incident reporting, and corrective action tracking in IBM's CMMS system

  • Support permit-to-work programs including working at heights, hot works, confined spaces, and electrical work

  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and participate in evacuation drills

  • Manage first aid supplies, AED maintenance, and safety equipment inventories

  • Interface with contractors and vendors on HSSE compliance requirements

  • Support asbestos management programs and maintain material inventories

 

Sustainability & Environmental Programs

  • Monitor environmental compliance including air emissions, water discharges, and waste disposal

  • Support renewable energy initiatives and sustainability reporting requirements

  • Track and report environmental performance data in designated tools

 

Incident Management & Reporting

  • Investigate workplace incidents and near misses, conducting root cause analysis

  • Prepare comprehensive incident reports and coordinate corrective actions

  • Support emergency response procedures for environmental and safety incidents

  • Maintain incident databases and trend analysis for continuous improvement

  • Ensure timely reporting to regional HSSE leadership and stakeholders

  • Training & Awareness

  • Support HSSE training program delivery and competency assessments

  • Assist in developing safety awareness campaigns and communications

  • Coordinate contractor safety orientations and ongoing compliance monitoring

  • Maintain training records and certification tracking

  • Promote sustainability awareness among site personnel

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Interface with site personnel on HSSE and sustainability matters

  • Coordinate with landlords, tenants, and third-party service providers

  • Support regulatory inspections and compliance audits

  • Participate in client safety committees and sustainability working groups

  • Liaise with emergency services and regulatory authorities as required

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or related field

  • Professional safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred

  • Environmental management certification (ISO 14001 Lead Auditor) advantageous

  • First Aid and CPR certification required

 

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in HSSE coordination or environmental management

  • Experience with multinational corporate HSSE programs preferred

  • Facilities management or corporate real estate environment experience advantageous

  • Knowledge of Indian environmental and safety regulations

  • Experience with CMMS systems and incident management platforms

  • Success working with subcontractors/vendors supporting mutual safety objectives

 

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in HSSE management systems and environmental compliance

  • Strong analytical skills for data collection, analysis, and reporting

  • Knowledge of chemical management and hazardous materials handling

  • Understanding of energy management and sustainability metrics

  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental tracking systems

  • Familiarity with waste management and recycling programs

  • Basic computer skills with both word processing and database applications

  • Ability to drive and inspect both outdoor and indoor areas to observe compliance with established programs
