Pay Range

$18.50 - $27.75

Major Responsibilities:

  • Scanning of Historical Medical Records and Clinical Correspondence
    •     1)Retrieves paper medical records and prepares documents for scanning; Scans historical medical records into previous scan folders.
    •     2)Performs high level chart review to assure chart name matches chart documents.
    •     3)Regularly monitors scanning equipment to ensure scanning settings are appropriate.
    •     4)Periodically reviews scanned images for readability and adjusts settings or rescans documents as necessary.
    •     5)Analyzes medical correspondence received to identify if document requires physician verification. Scans loose sheet correspondence into the appropriate electronic folders for the correct patient.
    •     6)Notifies physician electronically which patients have medical correspondence scanned that requires verification.
    •     7)Boxes or re-shelves paper medical records or correspondence post scanning.
    •     8)Identifies scanning inefficiencies and reports workflow improvements to Supervisor and/or Manager.
    •     9)Maintains an organized work environment to meet productivity expectations.
  • Adheres to Scanning Protocols and Health Information Standards
    •     1)Provides input for the development and implementation of electronic medical record procedures and standards.
    •     2)Follows scanning quality and productivity measures.
    •     3)Assures adherence to policies and procedures for health information services.
    •     4)Maintains HIPAA Privacy compliance knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains positive customer relationships
    •     1)Provides quality customer service.
    •     2)Assists physicians, clinical staff, and associates with locating scanned documents within the EMR.
    •     3)Prints scanned charts or selected images upon the request of the provider or practice manager.
    •     4)Investigates and responds to customer concerns of poor scanned image quality or incorrectly scanned patient documents.
  • Maintains Awareness of Healthcare Environment
    •     1)Maintains awareness of scanning deadlines.
    •     2)Educates associates on correspondence scanning into appropriate electronic folders and physician document verification.
    •     3)Understands and maintains a thorough knowledge of scanning operations.
    •     4)Continually improves technical and professional skills.
