We are currently searching for a Data Integrity Analyst to work with our OrthoCarolina Health Information Systems Team in Charlotte, NC.
The Data Integrity Analyst performs specialized Health Information Management (HIM) activities to maintain an accurate electronic health record (EHR) and associated databases. Responsible to investigate, analyze and resolve all necessary issues to ensure integrity of the EHR and patient data to include Enterprise Master patient Index (EMPI) entries and medical record documentation.
Essential Functions:
Performs HIPAA compliant screening of incoming requests for protected health information of our patients, distribution of medical records, deficiency management to assure compliance with federal and state regulatory and accrediting body requirements for health record content and timely completion and document management to include the capture of health records in an electronic format.
Identifies, researches, and corrects data integrity issues within the Master Patient Index (MPI). This includes reviewing potential duplicates. Managing and completing chart corrections and unmerging patients.
Notifies appropriate groups when merges are in pending re-submit status to facilitate resolution.
Communicates MPI data integrity issues to all impacted departments
Runs various reports in EPIC such as Identity Events Report, Duplicate Report, and Dashboard reports daily.
Analyzes electronic medical records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Identifies and assigns the deficiency to the appropriate provider to complete the missing documentation.
