A Day in the Life

The H&S Analyst will support several key initiatives including supporting the including regular reporting and trend analysis and ensuring compliance reporting through external databases.

The compensation range for this role is $23 to $40 per hour CAN, in addition to an annual bonus, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. 

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Active participation in maintaining our strong safety culture
  • Manage client requests and input data into external databases to ensure compliance (ISNetworld, Complyworks, Veriforce, and Avetta)
  • Gather and input H&S records and data
  • Update and maintain H&S SharePoint site
  • Process and audit records and incoming forms (e.g., field level hazard assessments, inspections)
  • Respond to internal and external client requests and submit client reports
  • Support H&S data and reporting needs of project and proposal teams
  • Help with word processing, document proofing, and editing for H&S communications including presentations and bulletins
  • Assist with development of training programs and presentations
  • Assist in the coordination, scheduling and administration for H&S focused committees and work groups
  • Support for data analysis and summaries related to H&S statistics

Your Expertise and Skills

  • 2 – 3 years of experience in an administrative role or H&S coordinator role
  • College degree preferred in environmental science, health and safety, or similar field of study
  • Prior experience in health and safety is considered an asset
  • Working towards Health & Safety Administrator (HSA), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), or Associate Safety Professional certification is considered an asset
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and SharePoint
  • Experience working with data and summarize as well as identify emerging trends
  • Previous experience reporting data through ISNetworld or ComplyWorks would be valuable
  • Ability to use discretion and independent judgment to deal with common issues and problems or consult with the appropriate person, as necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling employee information
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral; ability to prepare internal and external written reports
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as working on a team
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and requirements while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Outgoing and positive with a strong client focus
