isk Framework
- Establish and maintain the regional Risk governance Framework for M&G Global Services, completing a range of enterprise-wide risk management and compliance requirements
- Act as the second line of defence, providing independent oversight of risk-taking activities.
- Ensure risk appetite and tolerance levels are clearly defined and adhered to across GCC operations.
Risk Culture
- Promote a strong risk culture through training, awareness, and leadership engagement.
- Build risk management capabilities within First line through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Drive continuous improvement in risk processes and tools.
Strategic Risk Alignment
- Align Risk and Compliance oversight with transformation initiatives (e.g., digital, automation, AI).
- Assess risks related to third-party vendors, cloud adoption, and remote work models.
Risk Identification & Assessment
- Lead periodic risk assessments across the Corporate functions.
- Identify emerging risks specific to the India GCC landscape (e.g., geopolitical, regulatory, talent-related).
- Facilitate risk workshops and scenario planning exercises with business units including Change & Transformation initiatives
Risk Monitoring, Assurance & Reporting
- Develop and maintain risk dashboards and key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Provide regular updates to the M&G Global Risk Forum, Board and Group Risk committees/Boards
- Ensure timely escalation of material risks, events and non-compliances
- Lead robust assurance reviews across risk management, compliance and control practices across allocated area of responsibility
Operational Resilience
- Provide oversight of operational resilience as per recovery objectives, concentration risk and impact tolerances for India-delivered services, addressing severe risk scenarios, and embedding resilience into governance and major change initiatives
Regulatory & Compliance Risk Management
- Monitor compliance with local laws and regulations (e.g., Companies Act, DPDP Act).
- Provide assurance on status of compliance with local regulations within M&G Global Services
- Keep informed of status of compliance with Group compliance requirements of the Business Functions
- Investigate fraud investigations aligned with the Group Fraud Investigation team
Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
- Collaborate with GCC leadership & first line functions (e.g., Finance, Operations, Technology, HR) to embed risk culture.
- Liaise with global Risk and Compliance teams, Audit and External Auditors to ensure consistency in risk practices and reporting.
People Management & Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing regional Risk and Compliance Oversight team.
- Set clear goals, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture aligned with global values.
- Ensure compliance to the people policies, Group Code of Conduct and embedding desired behaviours
- Be personally accountable for identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risks within your area of responsibility, including supporting formal risk management activities e.g. Risk & Control Self-Assessments and timely closure of Assurance actions
- Develop excellent working relationships with Business stakeholders and Staff at functional levels to ensure efficient clearance of issues, influencing a positive risk and compliance culture
- Manage risk and compliance professionals in the M&G India Risk and Compliance oversight and other resources within M&G India Risk & Compliance teams as appropriate.
- Work with colleagues across locations within the Risk and Compliance function and the wider business to ensure that M&G Plc operates within an effective risk management and compliance framework
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of methodology across Risk & Compliance and work flexibly in support of the wider Risk & Compliance agenda, benchmarked against industry best practise
Qualification & Certifications
- Graduate/Post-graduate/MBA with at least 18 years (or more) of experience in Global Capability Centre, Consulting firm, with prior experience in Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Internal Audit in BFSI
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. IRM Diploma in Risk Mgt, CISI Operational Risk, ACA, IRM (desirable))
- Expert knowledge of insurance and investment products, competitors, systems and distribution methods
- Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance and legislative environments and regulated marketplace and position of M&G within that market
- A strong sense of ethics, sound business judgment and the desire to be a business-orientated problem solver
- Strong understanding of external business standards, sharing best practice and implementing interventions where required
