Role Purpose
As the Sales Director your role will be to lead, direct and control the sales and business development activities in Turkey with significant impact on group results. You will manage this business function to achieve its short and long-term safety, financial, and operating objectives, as set by the overall sales and capital strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for input to the long-term business strategy of the designated area and tasked with providing clear and strong leadership on the future strategic direction for the same.
- Establishes overall vision and strategy, and business plan and budget for designated area of responsibility, in line with the Sales strategy.
- Sets Sales targets and monitors the performance for area of responsibility.
- Be accountable for the sales, contribution margins and business development in your area of responsibility.
- Leads, guides and develops a Sales team to ensure achievement of objectives.
- Acts as a general representative for the area of responsibility towards external parties.
- Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities.
Further to above you will be required to establish a strategy and be directly accountable for the delivery of results within Turkey. The strategic influence of roles at this level will extend beyond their commercial or functional area, having implications for the wider Region. Role holders will own and develop long term relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and direct negotiations important to the achievement of Region Sales and Product strategy. Champions for change at an organisational and functional level, role holders will drive innovation and address complex business issues impacting multiple business areas. Roles at this level will possess depth and breadth of professional knowledge gained at a global level and may be recognised externally as a predominant expert within their discipline.
What you bring
- A relevant process engineering degree level qualification.
- A post graduate business qualification is highly recommended.
- At least 10 years’ experience within the mining industry, 5 years of which should be in a project execution leadership role in an EPC/ EPCM environment.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a business development role with demonstrable success in growing the business.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Existing strong network of key stakeholders within the mineral processing industry.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to grow and develop team members and potential leaders.
