Innovative tech. Must-have products. Careers here mean the freedom and support you need to make an impact – pushing boundaries, creating solutions, hitting targets. And as part of our close-knit team, you’ll enjoy plenty of benefits. Plus, experiences you’ll only find at Sky.
This is a key role in the Sky Ireland business as this team is responsible for tracking, reporting, and understanding the commercial performance across all product categories (TV, Broadband & Mobile) and brands (Sky & NOW), plus maintenance of all commercial and trading KPIs.
The remit covers daily & weekly performance, quarterly planning plus working with Finance teams to establish annual budget and long-range plans (LRP). Essential to the role is managing a wide stakeholder network across our sales channels (Direct, Retail, Indirect, Digital, Service, Retention), Finance and Operations.
This role is central to the day to day running of the business and therefore has strong exposure to the Exec and CEO.
What you’ll do:
Lead a team of 9 people, running both short & long-term trading performance.
The teams cover the acquisition, in-life and retention performance of TV (both Sky TV, Prems and NOW), Connectivity (Broadband & Mobile) and our consolidation function.
This person must give clear direction in a fast-paced environment, being able to pivot and respond to a changing market and guide Commercial leadership on the effectiveness of their actions.
Identify key trading signals amongst a host of data points and communicate them with impact to senior stakeholders to drive action.
Lead the business on commercial prioritisation, advising TV and Connectivity Directors on areas of contention and the best course of action for the business, while providing clarity to Operations and Marketing Directors on commercial focus.
Lead our Commercial planning processes – Quarterly Planning, Budget and Long-Range Plan – meeting key deadlines, driving the right considerations, and co-ordinating conversations across multiple departments and levels, while leading sign-off and review with Exec ready materials.
Responsible for being the ‘single voice’ of commercial performance for the Sky Ireland.
Able to balance multiple stakeholders, whilst being able to maintain an independent view on core performance and challenges.
Have a deep understanding of our sales channels and stakeholders.
Work closely with TV & Connectivity Commercial Directors, plus Finance & Operations Directors and their teams.
Maintain close relationships with UK counterparts for insight and performance benchmarking.
What you'll bring:
A proven track record in delivering significant commercial change – driving sales, margin and EBIT growth.
Solid and proven experience in a commercial leadership role.
An ability to manage senior stakeholders with competing priorities, and the resilience to deliver difficult messages in a collaborative manner.
Extensive team leadership experience – this role has complex business lines, and a team that manages each area, in all parts of the customer life cycle – thereby balancing competing demands is critical.
Significant network within Sky UK, or proven experience in working across territories, and in a complex matrix organisation
