About the opportunity

The Head of Business Technology, Support Services will provide operational and strategic leadership of Information Technology platforms and services for the Mercy Health Support Services portfolio that encompasses the corporate departments such as Finance, HR, IT and Transformation.

Reporting to the Chief Information and Digital Transformation Officer this is a senior role and part of the leadership team of the Information Systems and Services (ISS) group. The successful applicant will be a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills and will lead the IT function of the Support Services portfolio through a period of significant transformation while maintaining a high level of service.

Key deliverables of the role are: -

  • The development and maintenance of effective relationships between the ISS, the Support Services portfolio, and IT providers.

  • Implementation of the Support Services deliverables of the Mercy Health Digital Strategy 2023-2027.

  • Implementation of the Support Services deliverables of the Mercy Health Cybersecurity Strategy 2024-2027.

  • Implementation of the Support Services deliverables of the Mercy Health AI Strategy 2025-2028.

  • Implementation of the Support Services deliverables of strategic initiatives as defined by the Mercy Health Senior Executive on an annual basis.

  • Maintenance of a high level of availability and performance of Information Technology for the Shared Support function.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent staff leadership and management skills.  A track record in building and maintaining successful teams.

  • Superior interpersonal skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Expert level knowledge and experience of IT project management.

  • Expert level experience in vendor management, covering contract negotiation, dispute resolution and account management.

  • Experience in one or more of the following platforms (highly desirable); TechnologyOne Finance One & Ci Anywhere, MYOB PayGlobal, RLDatix RosterOn & Optima.

  • Demonstrated experience in use of the ITIL service management framework.

  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

  • The ability to show initiative and to provide leadership and the motivation of others.
