Overview Of Role
Global Player allows listeners to enjoy all of Global’s radio brands, award-winning podcasts, and expertly curated playlists, in one place in app, on web, on TV, in car and on smart speakers.
This year we’ll offer users the choice to subscribe for access to ad-free and exclusive content via Global Player.
As Head of Subscriptions at Global, you will be the subscription domain expert, operationally responsible for Global’s subscription offering, working with programming and content teams to refine the value proposition, the product team on functionality, the finance and strategy teams on pricing, marketing on acquisition and CX/CRM on comms, retention and win back.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership (50%): Develop and present a vision, ideas and approaches to maximise the success of Global’s subscription offering. You’ll build working relationships with teams across the business, influencing and presenting with confidence.
Delivery (30%): You’ll be hands on, creating new paywalls, setting up offers and discounts, running reports and analysing data
Management (20%): You’ll project manage cross-functional activities, advising and supporting colleagues on the delivery of related initiatives.

What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
Gained a detailed understanding of the workings of Global’s business across our Programming, Commercial and Digital divisions.
Fully understood the goals of the subscriptions project and how these support Global’s wider success.
Taken ownership of the subscription offering, packages, pricing, value proposition and lifecycle comms
Established strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business.
Established a vision for the future of subscriptions at Global
What You’ll Need
Deep knowledge of, and experience managing D2C subscription products (4+ years)
You’ll have demonstrable experience working with mobile apps (iOS/Android) and web products. Experience with other digital platforms is a bonus.
A passion for data, able to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in things like conversion rate and retention
Experience leading or working closely with CRM teams on lifecycle comms
Experience of working with cross-functional Product development teams
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, proactively seeking out the most valuable opportunities and driving iterative improvements
Effective prioritisation and project management skills
Strong understanding of competitive landscape and best practices
Experience with analytic and research tools such as Amplitude or equivalent
You’ll be confident using AI to assist you in performing your best work in an efficient way
Experience with applications such as Braze and RevenueCat would be a bonus
