Responsibilities
Develop, evaluate, and oversee risk management frameworks, controls, and systems to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures; align with regulatory expectations.
Ensure effective operation of credit, market, liquidity, operational, and other risk controls through ongoing monitoring, risk identification, mitigation, and timely escalation to branch management and Head Office.
Lead risk analytics and portfolio reviews; present risk insights to the Risk Committee as required.
Identify positions that conflict with established risk policies and limits; monitor financial indicators and ratios; pursue timely corrective actions.
Act as the primary risk advisor on governance matters; strengthen the branch’s understanding of risk across teams.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, Head Office, and vendors to drive risk management system development or enhancement.
Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements
Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis, or a related discipline.
Professional qualifications such as FRM and/or CFA are advantageous.
Preference for professional qualifications under the Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) for Banking Practitioners in the relevant stream(s).
At least 10 years of experience in risk management within the banking industry, with solid understanding of equity/FICC products and market risk.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with a high level of integrity.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.
