The Position

The Quality Unit at Kaiseraugst is a dynamic and essential part of the Site organization, dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical excellence across various manufacturing areas, including Solids, Sterile Filling, Antibiotics, Packaging, Logistics and Quality Control . As part of the Kaiseraugst Quality Unit, the QA for QC department is responsible for all quality aspects of QC activities  of solid and parenteral products on drug substance, drug product and finished goods level, e.g. release testing, stability testing, support of transfers and launches and environmental monitoring. The team operates in a constantly changing environment, leveraging lean (LPS) and agile methodologies to maintain a constant state of inspection readiness and operational excellence.

We are seeking a Head of QA for QC to lead the QA for QC department, provide strategic leadership and quality oversight for QC. Reporting directly to the Site Quality Head Kaiseraugst, you will be a key member of the Quality Leadership Team, responsible for driving network alignment and cross-functional decision-making. In this role, you will act as a visible change agent and business partner for the head of QC, ensuring that all quality control activities meet both global and local standards while fostering an environment where team members can thrive.

The Opportunity

  • Lead and Develop Talent: Oversee the full employee performance management lifecycle for a team of Quality professionals, including hiring, resource planning, and fostering a strong team spirit through professional and personal support.

  • Strategic Oversight: Maintain full strategic responsibility for refining goals and objectives related to monitoring, reviewing, testing, and reporting on the quality of produced products.

  • Ensure GMP Compliance: Guarantee that both global and local quality systems are strictly followed and remain in compliance with national and international cGMP requirements and ISO regulations.

  • Operational Quality Support: Provide direct quality oversight for all QC processes through regular floor presence, ensuring manufactured products meet government regulations and company standards.

  • Partner for Inspection Readiness: Collaborate with technology units, manufacturing, and QC personnel to identify, escalate, and resolve compliance risks, ensuring a constant state of inspection readiness.

  • Drive Leadership & Alignment: Active participation in the Kaiseraugst Quality Leadership Team to drive network activities, strategic direction, and effective cross-functional communication.

  • Promote Continuous Improvement: Act as a catalyst for "Engrained Quality" by utilizing Lean (LPS) and Agile methodologies to initiate and drive a culture of experimentation and learning.
     

Who You Are

  • Academic Excellence: You hold a Master’s degree or Diploma in Pharmacy, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Device Engineering, or a related scientific field.

  • Industry Expertise: You possess at least 7 to 10 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry and GMP-regulated environments, with a deep understanding of analytical testing and E2E processes.

  • Visionary Leader: You embody the VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) leadership model, acting as an authentic coach who promotes employee strengths, transparency, and a healthy "speak-up" culture.

  • Regulatory Expert: You have sound scientific and regulatory knowledge, with strong familiarity with international regulations such as Eudralex, CFR, and Swiss medicinal product laws.

  • Effective Communicator: You are business-fluent in both German and English (oral and written) and possess the analytical and negotiation skills necessary to influence stakeholders and manage complex contexts.
