WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT FOR US

The Head of PM & Trading is a senior executive leadership role responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of SimCorp's front-office product portfolio across the full investing lifecycle for Portfolio Managers, Traders, CIOs, and CROs.

This role shapes the strategic vision, market positioning, and execution excellence of portfolio construction, trading capabilities, order management, performance analytics, and client reporting solutions that define SimCorp's competitive differentiation in the institutional investment market. By establishing product management best practices, fostering deep domain expertise, and driving innovation across the front-office organization, this role ensures SimCorp's capabilities remain the market-leading benchmark that the world's most sophisticated institutional investors depend on for mission-critical investment decisions.

As a member of the Product executive leadership team, this role partners directly with Engineering, Risk, Operations, Client Success, Sales, and Marketing to translate institutional market requirements into innovative, scalable solutions that drive revenue growth and client retention. This leader represents SimCorp's front-office vision and strategy to external stakeholders, institutional clients, and industry leaders — building relationships that elevate SimCorp's reputation as the definitive platform for institutional investment management. This leadership position is critical to executing SimCorp's upmarket strategy, expanding wallet share with existing clients, and defending our installed base against point-solution competitors.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Product Strategy & Market Leadership

  • You define and own the strategic vision for SimCorp's front-office product portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise business objectives, market trends, and evolving institutional client requirements.
  • You identify and capitalize on market opportunities, driving product innovation that positions SimCorp ahead of competitive threats and establishes thought leadership in institutional investment technology.

Product Execution & Operational Excellence

  • You drive exceptional product delivery by establishing clear requirements, defining functionality, and setting goals in a manner that enables PMs to execute with precision and impact across the full product lifecycle.
  • You establish the standards, frameworks, and best practices for how the organization approaches product specifications, delivery quality, and cross-functional integration — continuously improving efficiency and time-to-value.

Customer Insight & External Engagement

  • You establish data strategy and infrastructure standards that inform enterprise-level decisions and enable the organization to make investments based on actionable customer and market intelligence.
  • You represent SimCorp's front-office vision to institutional clients, prospects, and industry leaders — translating market feedback into strategic priorities and building relationships that reinforce SimCorp's market leadership.

Leading & Influencing People

  • You build and scale a high-performing product organization, developing talent pipelines, mentoring senior product managers, and cultivating a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability that attracts world-class talent.
  • You operate as an extension of the executive team, providing strategic counsel on critical initiatives that shape long-term planning, competitive positioning, and enterprise resource allocation.

WHAT WE VALUE

Domain Expertise & Market Knowledge

  • 15+ years of experience in product management and leadership for institutional investment platforms, demonstrating expertise in portfolio management, trading workflows, order management, or execution strategies.
  • Deep domain knowledge of institutional asset management workflows, asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternatives), regulatory requirements, and competitive dynamics that define market leadership.

Product Leadership & Execution Excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to define strategic vision, build organizational capabilities, and lead high-performing product organizations across multiple teams and business units while maintaining product excellence as a core organizational capability.
  • Extensive experience managing complex product portfolios with multiple stakeholders, asset classes, and regulatory constraints — with demonstrated success in product launches and measurable business impact.

Strategic Communication & Executive Influence

  • Proficient communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to C-suite executives, institutional clients, board stakeholders, and industry forums with clarity, conviction, and strategic insight.
  • Data-driven approach, using analytics, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to inform product decisions and establish thought leadership within the organization and market.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $284.000 – $427.000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans. Your total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.
