Would you like to take on a key leadership role in a newly established team where you can truly shape the culture and how plant design is executed across pre-sales, sales, and project execution?

Join us to work across an interesting and broad project portfolio spanning multiple industries and enjoy collaborating with skilled colleagues from different departments and functions.

If you are motivated by building something new, leading a diverse team, and driving impact across engineering and project execution, this role offers a unique opportunity to do just that.

GEA Group – Engineering for a better world

At GEA, we provide cutting-edge equipment and project solutions for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. With 18,000+ employees in more than 60 countries, we specialize in sustainable, efficient solutions that optimize production and reduce environmental impact.

At our headquarters in Søborg, you will head up our Plant Design team. Established in 2025, the team consists of around 20 employees, bringing together colleagues from different departments. Together, they support project execution with CAD activities (particularly the design of overall 3D plant layouts and piping), as well as contribute to plant design in sales activities. Together with your team, you will play a central role in enabling both project delivery and commercial success.

Responsibilities / Tasks

As Head of Plant Design (CAD activities), you will take on both leadership and operational responsibility for the team and its deliverables across pre-sales, sales and execution. As the team is relatively new, you will be creating and shaping a strong, unified team culture across employees coming from different backgrounds.

Moreover, you will:

  • Ensure that all Plant Design deliverables are executed and delivered in line with project time schedules, budgets, and staffing.

  • Secure effective project and stakeholder management with Project Management, Business Lines, and CoC.

  • Contribute to building an efficient Plant Design function with strong engineering capabilities, high utilization, and high internal stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Develop and maintain support from the Global Engineering Pool to ensure scalability and cost-effective engineering.

  • Align and standardize working methodologies and processes, including sharing best practices and anchoring know-how.

  • Establish clear communication within the team to ensure alignment on priorities, assignments, and resource utilization.

Your Profile / Qualifications

We are looking for a colleague who is open to new models, ideas, and innovation, acting as a change champion. You are comfortable working across multiple companies, locations, and cultures, and your communication and presentation skills are on point.

To succeed in this role, you combine strong technical insight with solid leadership capabilities and a collaborative mindset, and finally, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a degree in mechanical or process engineering, technical design, or similar and have experience from similar roles within engineering, equipment or food and beverage manufacturing.

  • Have experience with engineering-to-order and design engineering.

  • Possess strong technical know-how, basic project management skills, and end-to-end process understanding.

  • Have an understanding of technology and product complexities.

  • Bring strong people management skills.

  • Are fluent in English.
