About the Role
The Head of Operational Resilience is a senior leader on the Group Security Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief Security Officer. Responsible for developing and refining the company’s operational resilience strategy, this role ensures the business can anticipate, withstand, and recover from disruptions.
The position involves collaborating across all business areas to embed resilience into risk management, strategic planning, and daily operations, leveraging technology to improve crisis response and decision-making.
Key duties include overseeing the effectiveness of resilience measures, partnering with teams to assess risks, and providing regular reports to executive leadership and the Board.
This role requires strategic vision, operational expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a complex environment.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for the Haleon Business Resilience strategy and oversee the implementation of the Operational Resilience Framework, adhering to best practices across Readiness, Response, Recovery, and Regeneration phases.
Oversee the establishment and management of the enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) within the Operational Resilience Framework.
Develop and integrate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess continuity preparedness, recovery capabilities, plan effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement across essential business functions.
Design and execute a tiered crisis response structure across global operations, facilitating scalable incident management, clear escalation procedures, and coordinated decision-making in alignment with enterprise risk and operational resilience frameworks.
Identify, map, and prioritize Critical Business Services (CBS); conduct impact assessments; establish, monitor, and document recovery time objectives and dependencies.
Coordinate the Operational Resilience Executive Steering Committee to provide strategic oversight, ensure alignment with organizational priorities, guide resilience initiatives, resolve critical issues, and monitor overall effectiveness.
Lead the senior Operational Resilience Working Group to drive cross-functional collaboration, set strategic priorities, and ensure achievement of resilience objectives.
Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials on Operational Resilience and facilitate crisis management exercises for senior stakeholders.
Support organization-wide resilience by promoting knowledge sharing and mentoring business units in crisis management competencies.
Collaborate with technology teams on disaster recovery planning, data backup strategies, and cyber resilience initiatives.
Work closely with QSC and procurement teams to safeguard supply chain continuity and develop dual sourcing strategies.
Uphold compliance standards, maintain accurate documentation, and prepare regular reports for leadership and governance committees.
Provide assurance regarding BCMS compliance and effectiveness, as well as crisis preparedness, through ongoing review, monitoring, and reporting.
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and validation exercises to identify improvement areas and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Emergency Management, or related field.

CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional)
MBCI (Member of the Business Continuity Institute)
ISO 22301 Lead Implementer
Crisis Management or Emergency Planning credentials
