Hiring: Head of Observability and ITSM Tooling Services

We’re looking for Head of Observability and ITSM Tooling Services join us at Telia.

I am Mindaugas Raugalė and I am leading Infrastructure Tools and Apps Division in Telia Lietuva. My department consists of over 30 IT professionals delivering high-quality IT services both internally and to our external customers.

Currently I am looking for a professional lead to join my team as Head of team in IT Tooling domain. The Team consists of ~7 platform engineers working on business-critical IT tools development; ensuring infrastructure observability; asset management; privileged access management (PAM); and other operational solutions. Our mission is to ensure the best user experience and service delivered for our customers internally or externally, driving the next generation of IT operations through automation, standardization, and AI-driven tooling (AIOps). Your next challenge? This is a senior role within our company for a professional who is experienced in owning & managing various IT platforms, projects and people. We will give you clear goals, support, and tools to reach them all.

For the team: the main task is to deliver professional services for our customers. To achieve this: we need to focus on the quality and efficiency of our daily operations & development within the platform area scope. I expect you to meet the following requirements.

What you’ll do:

  • Create and implement platforms’ development roadmaps, specifically focusing on AIOps tooling implementation and process automation and standardization.
  • Contribute to future IT services supporting tools development of new services and new platforms. Adoption of best practices used in supported environments and processes.
  • Ensure committed SLAs by leveraging predictive analytics and automated incident remediation.
  • Work closely with various internal operations teams and external partners or customers.
  • Platform life-cycle and inventory management.
  • Manage people, balance workloads, and control the team’s efficiency.

What will help you thrive in this role:

  • Experience in managing a team as a Team Lead / Team Manager.
  • You’ve managed an IT environment (IT infrastructure, IT services or applications) considering availability, capacity, performance, observability, automation and security.
  • Hands-on practice in various IT areas:
    • managing application development, software delivery lifecycle, and/or infrastructure development and operations.
    • configuration, automation and implementation of CI/CD activities.
    • experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks.
  • Experience with AIOps, advanced monitoring/logging observability platforms and leading IT standardization/automation initiatives.
  • You are familiar with ITIL framework or Agile practices
  • You are great with data analysis and reporting.
  • You are fluent in Lithuanian and English language (written and spoken).

Monthly salary range for this position starts from 5500 (gross) + annual performance bonuses. Although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
