Main Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to provide senior, end-to-end leadership of warehouse and logistics operations in the non-ferrous metals business, ensuring they are commercially optimised, operationally efficient, and risk-controlled across wholly owned and JV assets.
Knowledge
- Degree in Engineering, Mining, or a closely related technical discipline, providing a strong foundation in industrial operations and asset management.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience overseeing warehouse and logistics operations within the non-ferrous metals sector, including exposure to complex, multi-site and JV environments.
- Proven leadership capability with experience managing senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and third-party operators.
- Strong analytical and data-driven skill set, with the ability to design, interpret, and leverage operational and commercial KPIs to drive performance and decision-making.
- Deep understanding of metals warehousing, logistics chains, risk management, and operational controls.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to operate effectively in an international, multicultural environment.

- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating data and warehouse intelligence into actionable operational and commercial decisions.
- Excellent commercial acumen, including contract negotiation, value creation, cost optimisation, and P&L impact assessment.
- Proven ability to manage and optimise warehouse and logistics operations, balancing efficiency, risk, compliance, and service levels.
- Significant hands-on experience operating in Latin America (LATAM), with a strong understanding of regional logistics markets, regulatory environments, infrastructure constraints, and cultural dynamics.
- Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability, able to drive integration, rationalisation, and transformation initiatives across regions, including emerging and developing markets.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, effective at engaging with trading desks, operators, partners, and senior management.
- Ability to lead change, resolve conflicts between operational and commercial priorities, and deliver results in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

- Drive commercial value through logistics optimisation, new business development, strategic partnerships, and P&L improvement.

Department
The weighting and sampling department in the commodities industry is responsible for accurately collecting, measuring, and recording samples of raw materials—such as metals or minerals—to determine their quality, composition, and compliance with contractual or regulatory standards. They ensure that sampling methods are consistent and representative, verify weights using calibrated equipment, document all data, and often coordinate with laboratories and logistics teams. Their work helps guarantee fair valuation, supports trading decisions, and maintains the integrity of the supply chain.
