You are 

A strategic product leader with deep expertise in the  Multi-Life market.   You excel at translating market insights into innovative, customer-focused solutions and driving execution through cross-functional teams. You lead through others, influence senior stakeholders, and make high-impact decisions that shape Guardian’s strategy and long-term growth. 

 

You have  

  • 10+ years of experience in product development or management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 

  • A strategic understanding of the role of underwriting  

  • Deep knowledge of Multi-Life, Disability or other Insurance Operational experience 

  including pricing and regulatory components. 

  • Deep knowledge of Insurance distribution channels and partnerships. 

  • A strong track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive financial performance and customer value. 

  • Strong financial understanding, proven experience implementing and leading investment decisions to support strategic goals 

  • Experience leading through managers, developing talent, and influencing across functions. 

  • Ability to gain consensus and lead efforts in a matrixed organization 

  • A bachelor’s degree and MBA or advanced degree preferred. 

 

 

You will 

  • Lead the development and execution of Guardian’s Multi-Life market and product strategy to drive growth and differentiation. 

  • Manage multiple product producer and distribution relationships (both internal and external) as needed to offer a competitive product suite in the Multi-life market 

  • Translate market insights, regulatory changes, and customer needs into actionable product roadmaps. 

  • Oversee product lifecycle management, including ideation, pricing, launch, and optimization. 

  • Collaborate across distribution, legal, compliance, and technology teams to ensure successful product delivery. 

  • Influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align on priorities and resolve critical issues. 

  • Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to support strategic and operational goals. 

  • Develop talent through subordinate managers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. 

 

Key stakeholders include Guardian Product, Technology, Marketing, Operations, Legal, and Distribution. 

 

This position will report to the Head of Individual Disability, Multi-Life and President of Berkshire  

 

Location  

  • The preferred primary location for this position is in Pittsfield, MA for 3 days in-person out of the week. 

  • This position will travel to our Bethlehem, Hudson Yards, and Holmdel offices as needed and limited industry/sales related travel. 

Salary Range

$250,000 - $310,000

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
