The Head of Marketing – Canada leads the development and execution of the Canadian marketing strategy to strengthen Robert Half’s brand, drive customer engagement and growth.
The role oversees integrated omnichannel marketing programs spanning search, social, web, lifecycle marketing, partnerships, events, and content marketing and enablement to ensure consistent and customer-centric experiences across all touchpoints.
As a strategic partner to the Canadian operational leadership team, the Head of Marketing aligns marketing initiatives with business priorities, market opportunities and customer needs. This role drives measurable impact across brand visibility, customer engagement, lead generation, and retention, and is accountable for marketing’s contribution to growth in partnership with the operational leadership team. Working closely with global marketing and communications teams, this role ensures the Canadian marketing strategy and programs reflect our global brand and corporate communication goals while effectively addressing local market dynamics. Leverage and localize corporate-developed programs and execute Canadian-specific programs to maximize marketing effectiveness, business outcomes and customer success. Ensure a consistent, high-impact brand and customer experience across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
What You'll Do
Marketing Strategy
Monitor market, competitors and industry trends, combined with customer expectations to inform marketing opportunities and positioning.
Define and evolve Robert Half’s market positioning in Canada, ensuring clear differentiation and a compelling value proposition across all customer segments.
Align marketing investments to measurable outcomes that are tied to revenue.
Serve as a strategic partner to the Canadian operational leadership team to identify business opportunities, elevate our market positioning, improve customer success and support business objectives.
Digital Marketing
Oversee and execute omnichannel marketing plans and campaigns, integrating brand, digital marketing, and customer lifecycle programs leveraging corporate partners or regional marketing programs to optimize resources.
Guide performance marketing and paid programs to increase reach, generate quality engagement and high-intent leads. Working in partnership with acquisition and search teams.
Oversee local lifecycle (email) marketing to support acquisition, nurture, engagement and retention to increase customer lifetime value. Leverage relevant content and journeys working with our corporate lifecycle team.
Define audience growth strategies and oversee execution to expand high-value customer segments in-market.
Ensure Robert Half maintains strong visibility across search, social platforms and emerging AI-driven discovery channels.
Establish performance frameworks and ensure data-driven optimization across all marketing programs. Ensure local goals connect to global Marketing KPIs.
Measure and report channel and campaign performance, optimizing marketing mix to improve results and ROI.
Contribute to the development of our digital marketing roadmaps for web, lifecycle (email) and data-initiatives as part of our ongoing modernization efforts.
Brand and Marketing Programs
Define and create integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives that build brand trust, visibility, incorporating strategic alliances, events and enablement.
Oversee the Canadian alliances and partnerships. Partner closely with stakeholders to evaluate and activate opportunities that extend our reach, reinforce our credibility with members, and bring our recruiters and customers together to build relationships and generate business.
Localize and develop journey-based content and messaging to elevate our brand and provide solutions for customers.
Brand management in support of enhancing awareness and reputation, ensuring we appear wherever our customers and candidates are engaged. Supporting positive brand sentiment, reputation and visibility goals.
Demand Generation and Enablement
Partner with the operational leadership team to drive demand generation strategies to accelerate acquisition, conversion and revenue growth. Align marketing programs to business priorities to ensure effective lead quality and handoff.
Use data and insights, aligned with our operational best practices to develop marketing tools and assets that are localized for successful business enablement activities.
Ensure local marketing content and tools deepen customer relationships and reinforce Robert Half’s differentiators and industry-leading position.
Team
Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing marketing team.
Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and data-driven decision making.
Provide coaching and professional development to support team growth.
Collaboration
Partner closely with PR colleagues on local campaigns and programs that drive collective Marketing and PR success in Canada.
Collaborate with global Marketing and Comms to maintain a unified voice that seamlessly connects brand, reputation, storytelling, and customer marketing, creating a differentiated position and narrative for Robert Half.
Develop and maintain successful partnerships with cross-functional business partners. Provide proactive updates and relevant information to facilitate and support shared success.
Operate effectively within a global, matrixed organization, influencing stakeholders across functions to align priorities and drive outcomes.
Budget and Planning
Develop annual Canadian marketing plan and budget, following global Marketing guidance. Accountable for accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts, aligned to approved plan. Collaborate with the Canadian leadership team to ensure the plan supports business priorities and goals effectively and delivers ROI.
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, Business, or related field (MBA preferred). Bilingual is ideal.
15+ years of progressive marketing and management experience in-market, with experience leading marketing in B2B or professional services.
Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing with a track record of driving acquisition, engagement, leads and measurable outcomes and business results.
Proven experience leading omnichannel marketing campaigns and programs.
Experience driving successful sponsorships, partnerships, events, or experiential marketing programs that enhance brand and customer relationships that deliver ROI on these investments.
Skilled in building successful partnerships with stakeholders and business partners to achieve marketing goals and effectively support wider business priorities and goals.
Data-fluent, ability to build successful data-centric business case or rationale to support decision-making and recommendations.
Collaborates effectively in a large, global, matrix organization. Proactively communicates and connects information to relevant teams for overall business success.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, multi-lingual ideal.
People-centric manager with proven experience hiring, developing and building an engaged and high-performing team.
Proven leadership competencies: high-impact communications, business acumen, strategic planning, developing people and being a change-champion.
