Head of Managed Investments, MD
As a key senior leader, the Managing Director will steer the strategic direction of the Investment Solutions product agenda for managed investments (Discretionary Portfolio Management, funds, and alternatives) in Emerging Markets (EM). This senior role carries the responsibility for shaping, elevating, and executing the EM managed investments product agenda, thereby ensuring competitiveness, scalability, and contribution to the firm’s broader strategic ambitions. This role acts as a key partner to senior management, drives transformational growth initiatives, and provides the deep expertise required to steer the EM business through its next phase of strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership of a team of product specialists
- Provide decisive leadership to the team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and high performance.
- Set a clear strategic direction for the team, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and emerging client needs.
- Champion cross‑functional collaboration to ensure EM product initiatives are fully integrated across the business.
2. Strengthening and Expanding the EM Product Platform
- Oversee the continuous enhancement of the EM managed investments product platform, ensuring it remains innovative, differentiated, and fit for purpose.
- Drive product development as well as platform improvements / capability build‑outs in cooperation with transformation teams that position EM managed investments as a best‑in‑class offering.
- Ensure rigorous governance, process integrity, and operational robustness across the product lifecycle.
3. Senior Expertise Supporting EM Growth Ambitions
- The role also plays a critical client‑facing function, supporting the front office with high‑impact client pitches and advancing their commercial growth agenda.
- Identify high‑impact growth opportunities, emerging trends, and portfolio expansion levers to accelerate market penetration.
- Represent the EM product agenda in senior forums, driving alignment, clarity of priorities, and execution discipline.
Position requirement:
- Possesses minimally a university degree plus relevant professional education in investment management / capital markets
- Minimum 15 years of working experience in relevant product/investments functions within an Investment Bank and/or a managerial role in a Private Bank / Wealth Management
- Proven working experience with the client segments of an International Private Bank including interaction with UHNW clients
- Has in-depth knowledge of managed investments (Discretionary Portfolio Management, funds, and alternatives) and ESG
- Has in-depth knowledge and experience in product-related risks and control frameworks as well as regulatory frameworks
- In-depth knowledge of managed investments product manufacturing process, distribution and supporting systems infrastructure
- Successful multi-year track record in senior roles of leadership combined with a mindset of continuous transformation and improvement
- Possesses people leadership skills with proven ability to lead diverse teams effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at senior level combined with a positive and problem-solving approach
