The Role: Head of KSA, Business Development Climate & Sustainability Services

The Team: The candidate will be responsible for leading S&P Global’s Climate and Sustainability Services market expansion throughout the Kingdom, focusing on three primary client pillars: Financial Institutions, Non-Financial Corporates in hard-to-abate sectors, and Government Related Entities (GREs). This role demands deep client engagement and high-level strategic conversations, requiring the ability to connect across ministries, national champions, regulators, corporates, and financial institutions. Key expectations include building a robust on-the-ground network, meeting with senior executives and project owners, pitching tailored sustainability solutions, and designing offerings that leverage the full range of S&P Global’s data, analytics, platforms, and advisory services. The candidate will play a pivotal role in positioning S&P Global as a trusted partner in climate and sustainability, ensuring that client needs are met with innovative and impactful solutions.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Market Expansion & Positioning - Establish S&P Global’s sustainability and climate services in KSA and boost local market presence through ongoing engagement with ministries, corporates, and financial institutions. Build a strong network to enhance visibility and leadership.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building - Cultivate lasting relationships with senior decision-makers and engage in informed discussions on climate, transition planning, ESG, and sustainability. Act as a strategic partner for continuous client engagement.
  • Business Development & Growth - Pursue new opportunities with financial institutions, corporates, and government entities. Lead pitches and design tailored solutions utilizing S&P’s offerings. Lead internal teams in preparing proposals aligned with regional priorities.
  • Solution Integration & Delivery Coordination - Turn client needs into actionable projects using data, analytics, and advisory platforms. Coordinate globally for seamless delivery and contribute to RHQ’s balanced onshore/offshore delivery model.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:             

  • Exclusive for Saudi Nationals and be based in Riyadh to ensure essential on-the-ground presence
  • 10+ years of experience in a consulting role, ideally covering banking, investment, risk, financing, or sustainability-related areas
  • Demonstrate fluency in Arabic and English, with exceptional business writing and executive-level communication skills
  • Proven experience building or scaling a business, team, or regional market presence
  • Strong, hands-on experience in sustainability and climate topics, including advisory, technical analysis, or climate-related risk
  • Deep technical knowledge of ISSB, PCAF, GRI, and decarbonization standards
  • Experience with quantification of financed emissions, such as PCAF methodologies
  • Familiarity with local industry dynamics in Saudi Arabia, especially hard-to-abate sectors
  • Experience in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions quantification
  • Experience working in international organizations with exposure to global teams and matrix structures
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams, influencing stakeholders, and delivering cross-functional outcomes
  • Strong project management capabilities, able to lead complex sustainability engagements end to end

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deliver high-quality executive presentations and develop compelling materials using advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Clearly and persuasively articulate complex sustainability concepts to diverse audiences
  • Engage confidently with high-level stakeholders in both technical and strategic discussions
  • Report directly to the Global Head of Climate and Sustainability Services.
  • Contribute to the development of a hybrid delivery model by integrating onshore Riyadh-based staff with offshore and nearshore teams to support project execution
  • Commit to regular travel within Riyadh; travel outside the Kingdom is limited and not a priority
  • Drive business retention and expansion by strengthening client relationships and integrating data, analytics, services, and platforms to support account growth through upselling and cross-selling initiatives
  • Lead the transition to recurring and subscription-based models by converting one-off projects into ongoing subscriptions and facilitating client adoption of S&P tools
  • Identify and develop new key client opportunities by targeting financial institutions and government entities, expanding market presence in Saudi Arabia, and building a robust pipeline for sustainable growth
