Head of Infrastructure
Location: Sydney, Martin Place - Hybrid Working available
Reports to: GM Technology
Shape and lead our hybrid infrastructure and cloud services, ensuring stability, resilience, security, and alignment with business objectives—all delivered through our outsourced provider model.

About the Role
As Head of Infrastructure, you’ll govern our hybrid environment spanning on-premises and cloud platforms, delivered through an outsourced team. You’ll set clear expectations, strengthen vendor partnerships, and ensure services are resilient, compliant, and cost-effective.
Working closely with the GM Technology and senior stakeholders, you’ll shape strategy, oversee architecture, and lead critical initiatives that underpin business continuity and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Service Governance & Vendor Partnership:
Own the outsourced infrastructure service, ensuring SLAs, cost optimisation, and contract performance through strong, collaborative partnerships. Working with Business stakeholders to deliver expected outcomes
Strategy & Architectural Oversight:
Contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy and architectural governance driving modernisation initiatives such as cloud migration and hybrid architecture adoption.
Planning, Delivery & Change Backlog Ownership:
Lead planning and execution of key infrastructure initiatives and own the change backlog—prioritising enhancements and remediation across core infrastructure components.
Infrastructure Stability, Resilience & Security:
Maintain high availability and performance of critical systems, implement advanced security controls, and ensure compliance with APRA, ASIC, CPS 234, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and other regulatory standards.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Financial Management:
Manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and optimise costs.
Team Leadership & Culture:
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the outsourced team.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and partner with business units, risk, and compliance teams.
What you’ll bring
Extensive experience in infrastructure and cloud leadership within financial services or highly regulated industries.
Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks.
Proven ability to manage large-scale infrastructure programmes and budgets.
Demonstrated experience managing relationships with outsourced providers and offshore teams.
Experience in Network architecture & security: SD‑WAN, micro‑segmentation, Zero Trust, TLS everywhere, HSM/cryptography, privileged access, PAM.
Experience in Disaster Recovery Architectures
Experience with Windows Server, networking, and infrastructure management.
Familiarity with ITIL and service management best practices (preferred).
Ability to identify, assess, and manage risks within the IT function.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
