Technology - Agile, Delivery, & ProductReporting to the Global Chief Data Officer, the Vice President, Head of Enterprise Data Enablement is responsible for establishing the end-to-end firmwide data strategy, and governance operating model and then driving and influencing the implementation of frameworks, technologies, tools, and best practices to improve data management and data quality. The major focus for this position will be to continue to develop and operationalize the overall strategy for managing and governing all enterprise data – from ingestion, to quality, through to consumption across all of Prudential’s products, services, and business needs. This leader will be responsible for making high quality data more accessible and more secure through better classification and access controls, rolling out a comprehensive Master Data Management strategy. The Head of Data Enablement will ensure standards and best practices are implemented and adhered to across business lines, product teams, and divisions, while observing regulations and contractual requirements about how data can be used across the company.
Partnering closely with all business units across Prudential, the Head of Data Enablement will assess business need and provide thought-leadership and tactical guidance to improve data stewardship and data product ownership. Breaking down silos, this leader will ensure centralized standards are in place and adhered to across the enterprise. A strong enterprise orientation will be critical to ensure that teams are able to drive more effective business decisions and better serve end users from more accessible and high-quality data. This leader will also need to be an agent of change to build new data disciplines and drive adoption of data principles through influence, communication, and education. Critically, the Head of Data Enablement will need to be a builder, not only creating enterprise data standards, but also a high-performing team capable of rapidly executing data transformation on an Enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Define & implement Data Management &Governance policy and standards; including Responsible AI (RAI) policy & standards
Oversees data and RAI governance, including tracking to KPIs and executive reporting
Provide support to federated teams to implement and comply with RAI and Data polices and standards
Perform data management on Chief Data Office owned data assets
Lead Community of Practice (CoP) & liaise with Division/ Function Business Data & AI Leaders
Drive strong partnerships with:
Business Data & AI Leaders to champion adoption of data policies and drive accountability within their functions
Business Domain Owners to operationalize data governance and ensure domain-level compliance
HR to partner and align data talent to enterprise and market standards for federated roles (e.g., Data Stewards, Data Custodians)
Legal, Risk, and Privacy to ensure data policies meet regulatory, legal, and risk requirements
Technology (CIOs) to implement policies and standards requirements on behalf of business
Serve as coach and mentor, identifying, developing, nurturing, and retaining the next generation of data leaders at Prudential.

The successful candidate will have experience operating in a complex global organizational environment and will bring extensive experience leading transformational change programs. They will also have a proven track record of delivering improved data management, governance, and security to the organization.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following traits and competencies:
Must have experience dealing with complexity of organization (breadth of complexity is important and experience handling and leading a large global organization)
Knowledge and demonstrated practice of master data management, data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
Leadership experience managing complex delivery across development to implementation and delivery to production - experience across the entire spectrum delivering solutions at scale.
Demonstrated experience bringing together organizations across business units, building best-practices and discipline around data management and governance. Specifically, creating and implementing modern data governance models from scratch and creating buy-in for fast and meaningful change.
Effective communicator, collaborator - work with different organizations that rely on high quality and timely data
Experience in Agile Development, with Product Owner or Chief Product Owner (or similar) experience preferred
Ability to document detailed product concepts in the context of user needs, business impacts, and technical requirements
Challenger mindset and passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – loves and embraces change
Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team
Not afraid to ‘roll up the sleeves’ and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn – pushes the team to do the same

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field preferred
Minimum of 12 years of experience in data governance, policy development & implementation, and regulatory compliance.
