Who We Are Looking For

The Head of Engineering Delivery, Managing Director is a senior leadership role responsible for global, end‑to‑end delivery execution across the Charles River Development (CRD) / Alpha Platform CTO organization. Reporting into the CTO, this role owns the global delivery operating model, portfolio governance, and execution outcomes across regions, products, and functions. 

This dual hatted role sits in the Dublin, Ireland State Street office as it also serves as the regional EMEA engineering lead across Ireland, UK and Poland, along with managing global engineering operations.

Charles River Development (CRD), acquired by State Street in 2018, delivers enterprise investment management solutions to the world’s largest asset managers, hedge funds, and wealth platforms.  CRD powers State Street Alpha, the industry’s first open front‑to‑back platform launched in 2019.

The Managing Director provides strategic direction, enterprise oversight, and people leadership to ensure engineering initiatives deliver business value at scale, while maintaining rigorous adherence to Agile, SDLC, cybersecurity, risk, and control standards in a highly regulated environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Global Delivery Leadership & Strategy

• Define, own, and evolve the global engineering delivery strategy and operating model across regions and product pillars
• Ensure consistent execution standards, delivery discipline, and governance across a globally distributed organization
• Act as a senior partner to the CTO, Product, Architecture, and Business leaders to align delivery outcomes with enterprise strategy

Governance, Risk & Control

• Establish and enforce enterprise delivery governance, including performance management, KPI frameworks, and executive reporting
• Ensure global adherence to SDLC, Agile practices, enterprise risk policies, and regulatory requirements
• Serve as an executive sponsor for internal and external audits, risk remediation, and control effectiveness initiatives

Product Cybersecurity Management

• Manage a global team of cybersecurity professionals across Architecture, Engineering, and Compliance
• Provide executive oversight of security operations, and manage relationships with internal functions, such as Governance, Risk, Global Cybersecurity, etc.
• Partner with Product Management to ensure delivery execution is securely developed

Executive People Leadership

• Lead and develop a global leadership team that consists of Engineering Leads, Delivery Managers, Cybersecurity professionals, and Operational Managers
• Set expectations for leadership behaviors, accountability, and performance management across the delivery organization
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and ownership

Organizational Transformation & Enablement

• Sponsor and lead enterprise‑wide transformation initiatives related to delivery maturity, tooling, metrics, and ways of working
• Champion operational excellence through process optimization, automation, and data‑driven decision‑making
• Ensure delivery capabilities evolve to support cloud, platform modernization, and large‑scale transformation programs

Experience & Preferred Skills

• 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering delivery, program leadership, or technology operations
• Proven track record leading large-scale, global delivery organizations in complex, regulated environments
• Executive experience overseeing multi‑portfolio delivery, significant budgets, and global teams
• Experience managing and leading global cybersecurity teams
• Deep understanding of Agile delivery at scale, SDLC governance, and enterprise risk management
• Demonstrated ability to influence and partner at C‑suite and senior executive levels
• Strong financial acumen, including portfolio investment management and vendor strategy
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required.
