The Position

At Roche, our Pharma Technical Operations (PT) organization is dedicated to delivering greater benefits to our patients as part of our ambitious 10-year Pharma vision. Achieving this vision requires creating new and innovative data analytics solutions for our scientists. To drive this, we formed the PT Digital and Operational Excellence (PTE) organization, which is committed to digitally transforming and optimizing our operations to become a lean organization. PTE catalyzes the global execution of PT’s Digital and Operational Excellence strategy by building a strong cross-functional and inclusive community, empowering our people with data, and scaling our Digital and Advanced Analytics solutions for the benefit of colleagues and patients. Our goal is to activate data citizenship and a digital mindset, revolutionize our FAIR data ecosystem and systems landscape, and generate transformative insights.

 

The Head of Data Site Operations Lead will take on a critical leadership role, ensuring that site-level data operations are fully aligned with Roche’s broader digital objectives. Reporting to the Data Acceleration Lead, this position is key to establishing robust data governance frameworks at sites, facilitating essential collaboration between site teams and data product teams, and guaranteeing high-quality data standards and readiness across all site operations.

 

The Opportunity

  • Provide strategic leadership for site-level data operations and serve as the primary escalation point for resolving site-specific data or digital challenges.

  • Assume full accountability for driving measurable advances in data quality and readiness at the source systems, meeting the rigorous demands of current and future data products.

  • Design and enforce robust, site-specific data practices to proactively identify and resolve data issues, ensuring seamless alignment with global standards.

  • Lead efforts to align site-specific data initiatives with larger organizational objectives, encouraging seamless collaboration between site teams, Data Domain Leads, and the Data Governance lead.

  • Advocate for a data-driven mindset, pushing initiatives to embed FAIR data principles into the site’s day-to-day operations.

  • Play a leadership role in advancing Roche’s Digital Data Backbone initiatives by systematically orchestrating site-level systems and projects to contribute to company-wide data outcomes.

  • Champion the enforcement of advanced governance policies and frameworks to maximize data delivery capabilities and minimize barriers to implementation.

 

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data product management, data management, or advanced analytics implementation roles within a complex, global organization.

  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience, specifically building and leading teams of product owners or data management teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business value through data initiatives, particularly within Drug Manufacturing.

  • Expert-level knowledge of data product lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and data architecture principles.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, storytelling, and influencing skills to engage all levels of the organization.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Mississauga is 136,936.00 and 179,728.50 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors as determined by the company.
