State Street

Head of Content Operation, VP I - State Street Investment Management

Boston, Massachusetts Full time

State Street Investment Management is seeking a Head of Content Operations (VP) to help ensure our content is delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with regulatory, brand, and editorial standards. In this role, you’ll focus on the operational backbone of content—how it is planned, created, reviewed, approved, published, maintained, and governed across digital and client-facing channels.

You’ll partner closely with content, design, marketing, compliance, digital, and analytics teams to enable scalable, well-governed content delivery in a highly regulated yet agile environment. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role centered on content governance, workflow design, taxonomy, operational agility, content UX enablement, and platform alignment—not content strategy or creative direction.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex workflows, and who takes pride in making content systems and processes work better for everyone involved.

Responsibilities

Content Governance

  • Maintain and apply content governance standards, including workflows, approval requirements, and documentation

  • Embed compliance and risk controls into content workflows, templates, and systems to reduce rework and risk

  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to improve review efficiency while maintaining required controls

Content Workflow and Lifecycle Management

  • Own content workflows from intake and prioritization through creation, review, approval, publishing, updates, and archiving

  • Standardize processes across content types and channels to improve consistency, speed, and transparency

  • Track content demand, timelines, dependencies and capacity across teams and regions

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements

Content Production and Delivery Support

  • Support high-volume content delivery across web, insights, campaigns, and client communications

  • Manage editorial calendars and production schedules in partnership with content and marketing teams

  • Ensure always-on content remains accurate, compliant, and up to date

  • Coordinate with external agencies or vendors as needed

Content Platforms and Taxonomy

  • Partner with platform owners and marketing teams to ensure workflows, templates, DAM, and publishing practices support scalable, compliant, optimal content delivery

  • Act as the content operations point of contact for Digital Asset Management (DAM) standards, metadata expectations, and lifecycle practices

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve and align workflows across AEM, Workfront, and Smartsheet, supporting intake, tracking, review, and delivery processes

  • Provide content-specific requirements and feedback to inform system enhancements, workflow tooling, and usability improvements

  • Support the design and consistent application of taxonomy, metadata, naming conventions, and publishing standards to improve content findability, reuse, and governance

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Use data and feedback to inform workflow, tooling, and process improvements

  • Stay current on content operations best practices and emerging capabilities, including automation and AI-enabled workflow support

What We’re Looking For

  • 7–10 years of experience in content operations, marketing operations, or digital content management

  • Experience working in regulated environments, ideally financial services or asset management

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise CMS and DAM platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager)

  • Strong understanding of content governance, review processes, and compliance considerations

  • Experience supporting workflow modernization or content operations improvement initiatives, especially through the use of automation and/or AI

  • Knowledge of taxonomy, metadata, and content lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with tools such as Workfront and Smartsheet for project intake, tracking, and workflow management

  • Exposure to automation or AI-enabled content workflows

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a matrixed environment

  • Familiarity with content UX best practices
