The pRED Oncology team is focused on discovering and developing step-change innovations in cancer immunotherapy and molecular targeted therapy for cancers where there are few treatment options, or where treatment choices simply don’t exist.
Our goal is to prioritize our best scientific discoveries, and then bring these innovations from the lab to the clinic as quickly, effectively and safely as possible, so patients can benefit from transformative medicines when they need them.
The position is located in the department of Early Clinical Development Oncology (ECDO)
You are leading a team of highly qualified clinical scientists and medical writers and report to the Head of Oncology Early Clinical Development. You are mentoring and enabling the clinical scientists and medical writers to support the planning, implementation and execution of the clinical development plans of the pRED Oncology programs. The role contributes to the strategic direction and culture of Oncology Early Clinical Development as part of the Oncology Early Clinical Development Leadership Team as well as a member of other guidance or governance bodies and committees (within and/or outside the Oncology Disease Therapeutic Area).
In your role, you will:
Lead and develop a high-performing team of Clinical Scientists and Medical Writers, fostering a culture of ownership and coaching to ensure talent reaches its full potential.
Strategically oversee clinical and regulatory excellence across the Oncology Early Development portfolio, ensuring high-quality documentation (Protocols, IBs, CSRs) and optimal resource allocation.
Drive innovative trial design and data interpretation in close partnership with Medical and Biomarker leadership to optimize clinical development plans and dose selection.
Influence global strategy and external networks as a core member of the Leadership Team, while maintaining a patient-centric approach through a network of world-class investigators and advisors.
Proactively identify and implement new/best practices and work cross-functionally within Roche with other Clinical, Statistics, Data Management, Data & Analytics, Medical Writing, Clinical Operations and other stakeholders to ensure quality, speed and consistency across studies in Oncology Early Clinical Development.
Chair or co-chair the Protocol Review Forum; member of the Development Board; core member of the Early Clinical Development Leadership Team.

● You hold a PhD and/or PharmD/MD
● You have extensive Pharma / Biotech industry experience with a minimum of 8 years experience in clinical research in the industry, including experience in diverse working environments
● You have experience in leading a team
● You have a very good understanding of oncology drug development, ideally from early to late stage and registration
● You act as advocate for change, encourages adoption of new approaches, agility and continuous improvement
