About the role
Head of Change and Business Readiness | Melbourne Based | 2 year fixed contract
This is a pivotal leadership role at the centre of AGL’s Retail Transformation, driving the people and cultural change required to deliver a better customer experience through agile practices and digital innovation.
Leading delivery partners and a team of subject matter experts, you will design and deliver large‑scale organisational change—shaping structures, ways of working and the target operating model to translate strategic ambition into practical, sustainable outcomes. You will play a critical role influencing senior leaders and partnering across Customer Markets and enabling functions to embed new ways of working across the business.
Success in this role requires strong, credible people leadership and the ability to inspire, coach and align teams through complexity and ambiguity. With a strong focus on change management, business readiness and employee engagement, you will ensure leaders and teams are supported, equipped and empowered throughout the transformation.
Your ability to build trust, drive alignment and lead through change will be key to delivering lasting impact in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead enterprise-wide people, change and communication strategy as a core member of the Retail Transformation leadership team, aligning stakeholders at all levels to a clear, compelling vision.
Drive end-to-end delivery of organisational design, change management, communications, and business and customer readiness—translating strategy into a high-impact, future-fit operating model.
Influence and partner with senior stakeholders across the business to shape structures, roles, ways of working and culture, ensuring solutions are practical, data-informed and deliver measurable value.
Own adoption, readiness and benefits realisation, using insights and reporting to track progress, manage risk and implement timely interventions.
Lead customer and workforce transition readiness, including training, engagement, go-live planning and post-implementation stabilisation, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both employees and customers.
About you:
Previous demonstrated experience across transformation leadership and change program management across the energy or related industry.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, managing complexity and leading through ambiguity, whilst working in a fast – paced environment.
Experience working with Change Management methodologies, HCD, Agile or Lean six sigma.
Demonstrated record of driving cross-functional strategies and teamwork to deliver business outcomes.
Proven success in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the organisation including at the executive level
