✨ Let’s give businesses more time for what matters.

We are seeking a strategic, high-energy leader to oversee BILL’s Business Development organization across all product areas, with a primary strategic goal of driving the team upmarket. This role is ideal for a proven sales development leader who is passionate about BDR strategy, pipeline creation, and scaling systems.

This will report directly to our SVP of Sales and will lead a team of 7 front-line Business Development Managers, who lead a total of 50+ reps. The Head of Business Development will set the vision for attracting and developing top BDR talent while driving strong alignment with sales, marketing, operations, and recruiting partners. This role requires an exceptional ability to coach at scale, a heavy emphasis on outbound and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) motions, and experience launching and leveraging AI tools.

Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 7 front-line BDR managers and 50+ reps, building a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, development, and results.
  • Drive the outbound strategy: While our inbound motion is currently working well, this role requires a critical focus on outbound efforts, specifically creating Account-Based Marketing (ABM) motions rather than just calling leads that have shown interest.
  • Launch and leverage AI tools: Champion the adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging sales tech, as the sales development area is highly impacted by AI.
  • Partner to drive AE conversions: Partner closely and effectively with Account Executive (AE) leaders to drive conversions, as well as with the Ops team to fully understand and leverage data and tools.
  • Set and execute the overall strategy for the organization, ensuring consistent pipeline contribution, KPI attainment, and strong alignment to company growth goals.
  • Develop senior-level leadership capabilities within your management team through regular coaching, performance management, succession planning, and career development.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness by evaluating team structure, territory design, workflows, qualification standards, and lead handoff practices to improve conversion and sales efficiency.
  • Build scalable onboarding, training, and manager enablement programs that strengthen prospecting, qualification, messaging, and operational rigor.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • Mandatory second-line leadership experience, specifically with a focus on at least two years of experience at this level.
  • Proven experience leading at scale, ideally having successfully managed a team of approximately 50 people.
  • Experience with Multi-Product Adoption, including developing the overall strategy and tactical approach to selling simple and effective solutions that encourage adoption of multiple products and services.
  • Mandatory experience launching and leveraging AI tools for both inbound and outbound motions.
  • Strong expertise driving outbound strategy and ABM motions, performance management, and cross-functional alignment with sales and marketing.
  • Experience in larger, established organizations
  • Exceptional coaching skills with the ability to develop managers, elevate leadership bench strength, and improve execution at scale.
  • Strong analytical and operational mindset, with the ability to partner with Ops to use data, metrics, and business judgment to identify issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and represent the Business Development organization effectively.
