Responsabilities

You will be part of Deutsche Bank’s Government and Public Affairs team, a global group with colleagues based in Frankfurt, Berlin, Brussels, London, Washington D.C., New York, India, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The team focuses on identifying political agendas and regulatory developments at an early stage and raising internal awareness of issues that may influence the bank’s business strategy.

As head of our Brussels office, you’ll report to the Head of Europe G&PA, and will work in close cooperation with the entire G&PA team and relevant areas across the bank with the following responsibilities:

  • Leading the Brussels office and define Deutsche Bank’s proactive engagement strategy by steering and analyzing regulatory developments relevant to the bank’s business model.
  • Driving European outreach by strengthening connections between Brussels and European capitals in close cooperation with colleagues across the bank.
  • Positioning Deutsche Bank as a thought leader in Brussels by leveraging internal expertise and engaging with policymakers beyond the financial services agenda.
  • Managing the Brussels team of three FTE, set strategic priorities, and support their development and growth.
  • Designing and delivering engagement strategies with internal and external stakeholders, representing the bank in key meetings, events and hearings, aligned with the group strategy. You establish and maintain a strong internal and external network with peer experts, industry associations and policy makers, beyond the financial services community.

Skills

  • You hold a university degree, and you bring at least 10 years of experience in public affairs, including designing engagement strategies and managing senior external networks.
  • You demonstrate strong interest in global financial services and innovation, with a clear affinity for regulation, law and politics.
  • You show the ability to work under pressure, deliver high‑quality output, and apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in German and English is essential, additional languages are an asset.
