Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a senior, execution focused leader to drive the practical adoption, scaling, and value realization of artificial intelligence across its Institutional Client Group (ICG) organization. This role sits within ICG Strategy & Sales Enablement team and is accountable for translating AI ambition into measurable business outcomes—improving growth, risk outcomes, client experience, and operational efficiency.  This focused leader will drive the practical adoption, scaling, and value realization of artificial intelligence across the organization.

The leader will own delivery, partner deeply with product, technology, risk, operations, and finance, and ensure AI and digital capabilities are deployed safely, compliantly, and at scale across various parts of the line of business.

The leader is responsible for shaping and executing ICG’s enablement strategy in support of Relationship Manager (RM) productivity, client coverage effectiveness, and Portfolio Management (PM) excellence. This role owns the end-to-end vision, prioritization, and delivery of AI, digital products and analytics platforms that modernize how ICG originates business, manages risk, and serves clients.

This role will also be accountable for driving other select high value broad transformative initiatives. This role will function as a thought leader to influence business leaders to rethink their organizational structure and workflows. This leader will be required to challenge the status quo and drive re-imagining full processes and then leveraging AI to drive truly material transformation. 

Key Responsibilities

AI Delivery of ICG AI Use Cases

  • Own the end‑to‑end execution of AI use cases across ICG: Identify use cases through direct RM/PM collaboration, developing problem definitions, gaining investment commitments, driving execution, and tracking results through well aligned and understood objectives and KPIs. 
  • Translate ICG business priorities into an actionable AI delivery roadmap aligned to sales enablement, P&L, risk, and client experience objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal partners and external vendors to identify the optimal speed to market leveraging resource and skills availability, both internal and external.

Delivery of high priority transformative initiatives

  • Own transformation effort to challenge status quo and drive re-imagining full processes which subsequently will leverage AI to drive truly material transformation and growth.
  • Work with ICG executive leadership to ensure timely execution of key strategic initiatives.
  • Be the connective tissue to ensure AI considerations are included in long term work force strategy while rethinking holistic organizational structure and workflows.

Leadership & Influence

  • Lead a high-performing cross-functional team of execution focused individuals to help drive initiatives forward to deliver business outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and measurable impact across product and engineering teams.
  • Partner with WCIB, Product, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, and Finance leaders to influence without direct authority.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for AI execution within ICG, coordinating across enterprise AI, data, and platform teams as needed.

Governance, Risk & Responsible AI

  • Ensure AI solutions meet U.S. Bank’s standards for model risk management, data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Operationalize responsible AI principles within PCS, balancing innovation with safety, explainability, and control.
  • Prepare the business for regulatory scrutiny related to AI‑driven decisioning in business development, customer service, and financial services.

Value Measurement & Change Enablement

  • Define success metrics and track realized value from AI initiatives (revenue lift, cost reduction, cycle‑time reduction).
  • Drive change management, adoption, and capability uplift across ICG teams.
  • Build repeatable execution patterns so AI becomes a core operating capability, not a series of one‑off efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 15 or more years of experience, including leadership of large, complex programs/initiatives with high impact with direct and indirect leadership responsibilities

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services and/or Banking
  • Direct experience in commercial, corporate, or institutional banking—particularly in building AI, analytics, data science, or digital tools that serve RMs.
  • Ability to lead and execute on large initiatives spanning a line of business
  • Knowledge and experience with AI platforms
  • Knowledge and experience with data strategy for corporate and commercial banking
  • Knowledge and experience of AI operational models
  • Proficient in portfolio management, financial/budget management, roadmap planning
  • Exceptional executive communication and reporting skills
  • Expert in relationship management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability in collaborating across teams and driving to business outcomes

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $170,255.00 - $200,300.00
