The Role

dunnhumby is seeking an experienced an Head of Ad Server Migration on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to own and deliver a large-scale migration of our ad serving platform.

This role is critical to ensuring continuity of commercial operations, data integrity and operational stability during a complex, cross-functional transformation.

This is a senior, hands-on delivery role, accountable for end-to-end orchestration and execution of the migration, rather than a purely governance-led PMO position. The successful candidate will lead the programme through planning, execution, cutover and stabilisation, delivering a successful transition with minimal disruption to revenue, clients and internal teams.

The role will work closely with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Commercial, Media Operations, Data, Legal, and external technology vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the end-to-end delivery of the ad server migration programme
  • Define and manage programme scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and mitigations
  • Ensure commercial continuity, safeguarding revenue and client commitments throughout the migration
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to align technical architecture, integrations and delivery plans
  • Work closely with Commercial, Media and Operations teams to ensure readiness, training and adoption
  • Manage external technology partners and vendors, holding them accountable for delivery
  • Establish appropriate programme governance, decision-making forums and executive reporting
  • Ensure data integrity, security and compliance considerations are addressed in partnership with Legal and Data teams
  • Drive issue resolution and decision-making at pace in a complex, fast-moving environment

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading a large-scale platform or ad server migration, ideally within ad tech, retail media, martech or digital advertising
  • Strong understanding of ad serving technologies, media operations and advertising workflows
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, cross-functional transformation programmes
  • Experience working closely with engineering and product teams in technical environments
  • A hands-on, delivery-focused leader comfortable operating beyond traditional PMO models
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior and executive leaders
  • Ability to balance pace, risk and quality in commercially critical programmes
